According to Mega Millions officials, a single ticket holder in Maine was the only one in the country who matched all six numbers drawn Friday night.

“Congratulations to the Maine State Lottery, which has just won its first-ever Mega Millions jackpot,” said Ohio Lottery Director Pat McDonald, Lead Director for the Mega Millions Consortium. “It’s the fourth billion-dollar jackpot in Mega Millions history. We thank all our retailers for their hard work during this spectacular run, and our customers for their enthusiasm and support. I hope the fun and excitement Mega Millions has generated inspires a winning attitude in our daily lives and towards everyone we meet. Here’s to a good year!”

The lucky combination of numbers drawn late Friday night were: 30, 43, 45, 46, 61 and gold Mega Ball 14.

The jackpot winner has not been identified.

Georgia Lottery officials reported that five tickets in the state are worth $10,000.

Channel 2 Action News reached out to the Georgia Lottery to find out where Friday’s lucky tickets were drawn.

“Everybody wants to hit the lottery, live a better life, you know,” lottery player Justin Lara told Channel 2′s Justin Wilfon before Friday night’s drawing.

He was among the many players searching for that better life on Friday night, gobbling up last-minute Mega Millions tickets.

“I’m just superstitious,” said Lara. “Sometimes it’s better to wait to the last minute and get a lucky draw.”

The manager at a gas station in northwest Atlanta told Wilfon the store sold thousands of tickets leading up to Friday night’s historic drawing.

Some players said they would be just fine -- with a much smaller prize.

“Five numbers is a million dollars, so I would be good with that,” said player Arnold Humphrey.

But in the final hours before the drawing, others dreamed much bigger.

“I’m buying myself a yacht. I’m a boat guy, so I’m buying a yacht,” Lara laughed.

Earlier this week, four Mega Millions tickets sold in Georgia were $10,000 winners, including tickets sold in Norcross and Alpharetta.
