Murder suspect arrested after chase through Atlanta, police say

ATLANTA — A high speed chase through Atlanta ended with a murder suspect in custody and three other people detained.

Investigators say they were in the 900 block of Founders Road just before 6:30 p.m. when they saw an unidentified murder suspect get into a car. When they tried to stop the car, the suspect drove away.

While officers were chasing the suspect, they hit a civilian’s car, which caused them to hit a police patrol vehicle and several parked cars. The suspect continued trying to drive away, but crashed on the sidewalk and ran away.

Police say a total of three people got out of the suspect’s car and were captured and detained. It is unclear if they have been charged in connection to this incident.

The suspect has been identified as 19-year-old Antonio Waller. He was wanted in connection to a drive-by shooting outside a northwest liquor store that left one person dead and two others injured.

Police have not released the name of the man killed in that shooting.
