Winter storm: Hundreds more flights canceled at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

ATLANTA — As effects from a winter storm in north Georgia move into its second day, hundreds more flights are being canceled at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

According to flight tracker Flight Aware, 322 flights at the Atlanta airport has been canceled on Saturday. Another 180 flights are currently being delayed.

The FAA says the airport is currently experiencing an average delay of over 100 minutes.

Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines is the most heavily affected airline with 255 cancellations and 108 delays so far on Saturday.

Hartsfield-Jackson spent most of Friday on a ground stop, meaning flights weren’t being let in or out of the airport.

On Friday, more than 1,500 flights were canceled and another 400 were delayed.

Delta spokespeople shared a statement with Channel 2 Action News reaffirming that safety of customers and employees.
