CARROLL COUNTY, Ga — A high school basketball game has been postponed after a social media threat, according to the Carroll County School District.
The game was scheduled to be played between Villa Rica High School at Carrollton High School on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
The exact nature of the threat remains unclear.

Villa Rica High School principal Seth Rogers shared the following statement with parents on Saturday:
“Due to a social media threat that is currently under investigation regarding the basketball game between Villa Rica High School and Carrollton High School, today’s game has been postponed to a later date. Administrators from both school systems made the decision based on a recommendation from Law Enforcement to postpone the event in the best interest of students and fans. Thank you for your continued support of Villa Rica High School.”
