UPDATE: Missing 78-year-old Carroll County man found dead, police say

CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. — UPDATE: Police say a 78-year-old man who disappeared from Carroll County has been found dead.

Willie Fred Echols left his home on Clem Lowell Road Nov. 25.

Police said Friday that Echols was found dead. Circumstances surrounding his death have not been released but foul play is not suspected.

“This is an ongoing investigation and no foul play is suspected at this time. We ask that our community continues to pray for the family has they suffer through this difficult time,” police wrote.

Deputies are searching for a man who disappeared from his home in Carrollton.

Willie Fred Echols, 78, left his home on Clem Lowell Road on November 25 around 2:30 p.m.

Family members haven’t heard from him and are extremely concerned.

Deputies say he was driving a 2003 silver Chevrolet pickup truck with Georgia tag number XRE582. He was wearing a white shirt with burgundy stripes, blue jeans, a baseball cap and glasses.

Echols is described as a Black man who is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds.
