Cockroach, mold lead to failing health inspection at Cobb County Dunkin’ Donuts store

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — UPDATE Jan. 22, 2020: The restaurant scored a 96 on its re-inspection.

A chain restaurant in Cobb County popular for its coffee and doughnuts failed a health inspection.

It is the Dunkin' Donuts at 3300 South Cobb Drive in Smyrna.

Customers told Channel 2’s Carol Sbarge that they are surprised and disappointed to learn the restaurant failed with a score of 57 on Dec. 23.

Customer Alex Pamfilis said he bought doughnuts from there a few days ago and was upset to learn about the failure.

Sbarge went inside the store and found the failing score had not been posted yet. It still had an old score of 80 on the wall from 2018.

Violations in the latest inspection included a dead cockroach in a sink, mold buildup in the ice machine and food not stored at a cold enough temperature.

Dunkin' Donuts, which started in the 1950s, is now located in 36 countries.

Sbarge went into the South Cobb Drive Dunkin' Donuts to ask about the violations. She was told the manager was not there and would be contacting her.

So far, she has not yet heard from anyone.
