COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Some hikers from Cobb County are back home safe and sound after they got lost hiking in the North Georgia Mountains.
The Trion Fire Department said they got the call for help from somewhere on D.W. Mountain just before 12:30 a.m. Thursday.
The fire department set up a command center at the fort on top of the mountain to fan out and search for the missing hikers.

Luckily, they didn’t have to search long and found the hikers around 1:15 a.m. and brought them back to the command post.
The fire department said the three hikers were “found approximately 300 yards from command post on the other side of the steep ridge in a thicket,” in a post on its Facebook page.
What made everything even better, is that no one was injured.
