Community pulls together to get girls who lost their mom a meeting with Taylor Swift

They did it.

A group of Atlanta moms came together to help the two young daughters, Riley, 6, and Reese, 4, of the late Stefanie Ballard. Riley and Reese get to meet their favorite singer Taylor Swift then watch her Atlanta concert from a suite.

Stefanie died August 2nd after developing a strange infection three weeks prior. Doctors are still trying to figure out what caused the mysterious illness.

Stefanie had hoped to take Riley to the concert in October for her daughter's 7th birthday. When Stefanie passed, her best friends made it their mission to get her daughters to their favorite singer.

Friend Stephanie Houghton turned to her neighborhood Facebook page. She asked everyone to tweet Swift using the hashtags #wishes4riley, #bigdreamslittlegirl and #balladsforballards.

Hot Topics and WSBTV helped spread the word. Partner B98.5 saw the story and immediately jumped in to help these girls offering the family four suite tickets to see Taylor Swift when she comes to Atlanta on October 24th.

But the story doesn't end there. Thanks to the community and The Bert Show on Q100, the girls will also get to meet Taylor in person. The girls have also been offered a limo, money for new outfits, dinner beforehand and a chance to get their hair done.

Houghton said she knows the girl’s mother has something to do with this.

Stefanie's family and friends are asking people to help Stefanie's Husband, Pete Ballard, and the girls financially through a GoFundMe page.
