COUNTY-BY-COUNTY: Here are early voting dates for U.S. Senate runoff in Georgia

ATLANTA — The U.S. Senate race between incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock and challenger Herschel Walker is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 6.

A change in Georgia law with Senate Bill 202 means instead of the nine-week runoff race we saw in the 2020 Senate elections, this runoff will be four weeks after Election Day.

Early voting will also only last a week before the Dec. 6 runoff.

The Georgia Secretary of State’s Office said that early voting could not happen on Saturday Nov. 26 because of a law that prohibits early voting within two days of a holiday. Nov. 26 falls after Thanksgiving and a state holiday that Friday.

A lawsuit filed in Fulton County Superior Court challenged this law. A judge ruled in favor of the lawsuit and will allow for counties to add Saturday voting.

Local elections officials may allow early voting beyond regular weekday business hours, but it’s up to the county. That is why some counties have elected to open early voting on that Saturday and Sunday.

Here is a county-by-county list for north Georgia counties in the Channel 2 viewing area. This list will be updated as more counties confirm their early voting dates.

Note that the times and dates open will vary by location. Check with your local elections office for the location addresses and operating hours.
