‘Love conquers hate:’ Anti-Semitic flyers found in metro Atlanta being investigated by police

DUNWOODY, Ga. — Several people in Dunwoody and Sandy Springs have reported anti-semitic flyers they said were left in their neighborhoods.

Dunwoody mayor Lynn Deutsch told Channel 2′s Veronica Griffin that police are checking security cameras to try and identify who is behind them.

Channel 2 Action News learned this the story has an even wider reach after receiving an email of one of the same flyers from a viewer in Cartersville.

“We noticed something shiny almost like piece of paper that had fallen out of the mailbox,” said Greer Mendel.

That something shiny was actually a plastic sandwich bag filled with numbing anti-Semitic messages.

“The fact that the anti-Semitic propaganda is making its way around is really disturbing,” she said.

Mendel lives just blocks from the Jewish community center she attends with her family.

“I assure the community that the city doesn’t tolerate hate,” Dunwoody Mayor Lynn Deutsch said.

Deutsch believes the flyers came from outside of the community.

“I really believe that love conquers hate and that community that we come together and stand with each other, and that hate has no place,” she said.
