Georgia police nab ‘Bubble Bandits’ accused of damaging park fountain

ST. MARY'S, Ga. — It started off as a juvenile prank, but it caused some serious damage.

Police in St. Mary’s, Georgia posted pictures of three people they said damaged hands-free soap dispensers and then took that soap and put it in Howard Gilman Memorial Waterfront Park fountain.

Authorities said while it seems like something minor, it is an expensive clean up.

“This is not some juvenile prank that falls under the ‘kids will be kids’ umbrella. There’s a lot of work that must be completed to restore the fountain to normal operation. It takes time and money,” the police department wrote.
