NORCROSS, Ga. — Gwinnett County Fire and Rescue says 11 families have been displaced due to an apartment fire Sunday evening.
Fire officials say at 9:36 p.m., they responded to the fire at the Rosemont Peachtree Corners Apartments 3769 Elmside Village Lane in Peachtree Corners.
The 911 call, according to fire officials says the caller told the operator their apartment was on fire and was filled with smoke.

When fire officials arrived on scene, they found a working fire at a multi-family, two/three split apartment building. During their investigation, firefighters found fires on all three floors of the apartment.
Two apartment units suffered moderate fire damage, while one unit suffered heavy fire damage. Officials said there was heavy smoke and water damage to the remaining seven apartment units adjacent to the units affected by fire damage.
No injuries were reported due to the fire and officials say a total of 20 occupants were evacuated from the apartments by Gwinnett County Police.

The neighbor who called 911 told fire officials he was cooking when he stepped away into another room for a few minutes and when he returned, there was a smoke-filled kitchen with fire on the stove.
Fire officials say 11 adults were displaced due to the fire and have requested assistance from the American Red Cross.
