LOCUST GROVE, Ga. — If you’re heading to a Zaxby’s in the City of Locust Grove, you might want to double-check your receipt before you leave.
According to city officials, Zaxby’s has been charging a “city surcharge” to their customers.

City officials say Zaxby’s management and corporate office told them the charge was an error on their part.
They say there is no surcharge being applied within the city limits.
It is unclear if the surcharge is appearing on every transaction at every location.

If you notice the charge on your receipt, city officials recommend asking the employees to correct the error before leaving the store.
A Zaxby’s spokesperson released a statement to Channel 2 Action News on Tuesday afternoon saying the issue has since been resolved.
“We have resolved the situation with the Point of Sale system at our Locust Grove restaurant that incorrectly generated a city surcharge on some of our guests’ tabs. We apologize for the error,” the statement read.
