GROVE CITY, Fla. — A couple who found their Florida home destroyed in the wake of Hurricane Ian says this is a time of gratefulness for them.

Steve and Sue Lesky say their roof was blown off and the walls of their home in Grove City, Florida were blown out when Hurricane Ian barreled through last week.

Despite that, the Lesky’s told Channel 2′s Bryan Mims, they are just glad to be alive.

“It’s not the stuff. We’re healthy. We’re alive. It’s the memories we make here,” Sue Lesky said tearfully.

The couple has spent the last two years riding out the Michigan winters in their Florida home.

“We just got done remodeling the whole thing. We love Florida just as much as the native Floridians,” Sue Lesky said.
