ROSWELL, Ga. — Firefighters and other emergency responders were at the scene of a large fire at an apartment complex Tuesday.
NewsChopper 2 captured footage of flames and heavy smoke coming from the roof of a building in the Aspen Pointe Apartments on Gran Crique Drive in Roswell.
Fire officials said at least 30 people could have been displaced by the fire.
Pabel Trosche, fire chief with the Roswell Fire Department, said that firefighters responded within five minutes to the complex and found heavy fire.
Crews immediately got to work making sure everyone was safe and started suppressing the fire.
Trosche said Red Cross is on site working with the leasing office to help those who are displaced.
One person was treated for burns on their feet.
One firefighter received treatment for smoke inhalation, and another for a dog bite.
They noted there was construction going on in a nearby building but did not say whether it caused the fire.
Trosche said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
