NORTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Francisco Sanchez said he was stopped at a light on Old Roswell at Holcomb Bridge Roads last Friday when a car pulled up alongside him and a man inside started firing at him.
“I was at the light, waiting for the green light and that happened like seconds. Boom, boom, boom. That’s it,” said Sanchez.

Channel 2′s Mike Petchenik tracked down a man who was in the car behind Sanchez when it happened.
“There was this grey car, he pulled down his window, stuck out his hand with the gun in it. And he took about five or six shots,” said the man, who asked Petchenik not to identify him. “I was just shocked to see it happen. It was, so nonchalant.”
Another man, who worked nearby, told Petchenik he heard the shots and saw smoke coming off the barrel of the gun.
“I saw the guy coming out of the van and mom saw the windows being shot on that van,” said Igor Shlayen. “And he was bleeding out of his ear.”
Sanchez said he was cut by glass from his exploding window when the bullets struck it, but thankfully he wasn’t hit by the bullets.
“That’s what the detective told me, I’m very lucky,” he said.

The night before, Alpharetta Police said a random gunman opened fire on a driver on Ga. 400 between exits 7 and 8.
That victim, who was too shaken to be identified, told Petchenik he saw the car drive up next to him and then heard several pops. He said one bullet pierced a water bottle in his cup holder, and another went through his passenger door and lodged in a seat.
Alpharetta Police told Petchenik they’re looking into a link between their shooting and the Roswell case as well as whether their case is connected to the shootings of two joggers in Buckhead on Saturday morning. Police arrested a 22-year-old man in connection to those cases.
“They told me they got more cases similar with people shooting and they think it’s the same people who do that on the other cases,” Sanchez said of what police told him.
