Road rage shooting victim drives into Roswell after being shot in Cobb County, police say

ROSWELL, Ga. — Police said a driver fired multiple shots at another vehicle while they were travelling in an apparent road rage shooting Wednesday.

A suspect was taken into custody in Cherokee County a short time later.

The investigation began in Cobb County then led to a large police presence in Roswell. The initial shooting happened on Woodstock Road near the intersection of Mabry Road around 11:13 a.m.

Both vehicles continued northbound, and the victim eventually stopped in Roswell.

Roswell police said officers were called to the area of Highway 92 and Laurel Lake Road.

According to Cobb County police, during the altercation, the driver of one vehicle fired multiple shots into the victim’s vehicle. Both vehicles continued through the intersection toward the jurisdictional boundary between Cobb County and the City of Roswell.

That’s when police found a victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Police said the victim was conscious, alert, and breathing when first responders arrived.

On Wednesday evening, police identified the victim as 57-year-old Kenneth Taylor. Taylor was taken to North Fulton Hospital, where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives identified the suspect as Bashir Beal, 47, of Acworth.

Beal has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

The investigation remains active.
