About 24 hours earlier, another man was shot and killed in East Point
Police said 29-year-old David Roberts was with a group of people at Sykes Park on Saturday when a black sedan pulled up.
Witnesses told investigators the shooters jumped out of the car and started firing as Roberts and the others ran through the woods to get away.
They ran through the trees into the front yard of a home in the adjacent neighborhood. The victim was treated on the scene and was rushed to the hospital, but later died.
East Point detectives are still actively working on both investigations and have not given any indication the two are any way connected.
Police have not said yet what may have led up to either shooting, or why the two men were targeted.

East Point’s new chief of police said the city’s goal is to cut down on violent gun crimes. They’ve installed nearly 40 new high-tech cameras that can pick up and track the sound of gunshots.
Police did not say if that new surveillance is helping in either investigation.
