EAST POINT, Ga. — A woman who was carjacked in East Point is speaking out about her frightening encounter with a man who beat her and kicked her out of her car.
Andreia Sherrell told Channel 2′s Tom Jones she was sitting in her 2017 Nissan Altima and talking to her mother at her apartment complex Saturday afternoon.
“This is my safe place,” said Sherrell.
But after an attacker suddenly showed up at her driver’s side door, that may not be the case.

She says the man, who appeared to be in his late 30s or early 40s, punched her several times before getting in the car and continuing his attack.
“I thought he was going to kill me. I really told myself this is it,” she told Jones.
She says he then kicked her out of the car and drove off with her laptop, two phones and the wheels she needs to get around.

Sherrell says her attacker didn’t have to violate her the way he did.
“As simple as it sounds, had he said, ‘Give me the car or your life,’ I would have gotten out of my car and given it to him,” she said.
Police are still looking for Sherrell’s attacker and her car. They say the area is relatively quiet and they have had no major crime problems there.
