A combination of warm ocean temperatures and weaker upper level wind patterns is expected to fuel a very active hurricane season.
The NOAA forecast for this season is for 13-19 named storms, 6-10 hurricanes, and 3-6 major hurricanes. A typical hurricane season produces 12 named storms, 6 hurricanes, and 3 major hurricanes.
