SAVANNAH, Ga — UFC superstar Conor McGregor has donated $100,000 to the Savannah Fire Department.
The money will go towards new helmets and gear bags designed to improve the safety of Savannah firefighters, according to a resolution from the Savannah City Council.
The city said it “recognized an immediate need for funds to provide helmets and gear bags designed to protect firefighters from prolonged exposure to carcinogens and off-gassing from contaminated turnout gear until the gear can be cleaned and sanitized at the station.”

The MMA fighter, who was born in Ireland, was part of the parade and appeared on a float for Proper Twelve Whiskey, WJCL-TV reports.
The donation comes via Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey, which is a liquor brand that McGregor owns.
McGregor hasn’t fought in the UFC since losing o Dustin Poirier in July 2021.
