CINCINNATI — A Cincinnati photographer had zero trouble coaxing smiles from her subjects in a recent maternity photo shoot, and she can thank a horse named Buckshot for the assist.

Photographer Kristen Zaffiro shared a few shots from the session on Facebook, and there’s no question Buckshot was ready for his close-up.

“Best maternity session ever,” Zaffiro wrote, adding, “Who knew when I told THIS horse to smile, he would!!”

Within three days, the post garnered more than 85,000 reactions and nearly 20,000 comments, WLWT reported.

According to WJW, the Indiana couple specifically requested that their horses be included in some of the shots.

“When we got to the time to do the horse pictures, [the horses] were not standing the way we had hoped they would. We finally got them turned around the correct way, and I said, ‘At least you could smile,’ and he did,” Zaffiro told the outlet. “When I laughed, [Buckshot] smiled more.”

Meanwhile, the couple did manage to secure a few photos without Buckshot stealing the spotlight.
