Scholastic program supplements learning as families prepare to return to school amid coronavirus pandemic

As some school districts are extending summer break, trying to adapt the school year during the age of the coronavirus, some parents may be looking for help either getting their children prepared for next year or to fill the holes in their child’s education that developed because of the scramble to distance learn at the end of the 2020 school year.

Scholastic had supported parents with a program called “Learn at Home” that provided free online resources and activities for students, WFTV reported.

The company is continuing the program in advance of the 2020-21 school year, but there is a change. Instead of being free, there is a fee charged for a subscription.

Families with elementary school-aged children can subscribe to the Learn at Home for Families service for $5.99 a month.

Scholastic has developed plans for both families and schools.

The service for families is not only geared to keep kids learning through the summer but also through the school year, the company promises.
