Nick Saban cleared to coach Alabama vs. Georgia Saturday night

TUSCALOOSA, Al — It looks like we’ll see a matchup of University of Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban and his protégé, UGA Head Coach Kirby Smart Saturday night after all.

Just after noon on Saturday, word came out that Saban tested negative in his 3rd COVID-19 test after a Wednesday positive test. The long-time Alabama coach was considered asymptomatic but was restricted to his Tuscaloosa home until he tested negative for at least three straight tests.

The Crimson Tide had been preparing with their head coach watching practice from home via Zoom all week long. Former Falcons offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian was supervising practice in Saban’s absence.

No Alabama players have tested positive for the virus and Saturday’s game featuring the #2 ranked Alabama and #3 ranked Georgia is still set for kickoff just after 8 p.m at Bryan-Denny stadium in Tuscaloosa.
