According to WGXA, 59-year-old Samuel “Sammy” Jackson, was reported missing by his wife, Jill Jackson, on Jan. 27.
WGXA says Jackson was the former head coach of Fort Valley State’s basketball team.
Jackson told authorities she spoke with her husband on Sunday, Jan. 26 between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. as he prepared to start working as an Uber Eats driver at the Buc-ee’s on Russell Parkway in Fort Valley, Ga., WGXA reports. She says she did not hear from Jackson again until 2:15 a.m. when he sent a text that read, “Do you know my social security number?”
Jackson’s family shared a security photo that showed him last seen at a Dollar General in the Warner Robins or Macon area around 10:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, Jackson’s son, Desmond Jackson, told WGXA investigators found his father, “dead in Atlanta.”
This was after WGXA went to interview the 59-year-old’s son and wife at a home in Bonaire, Ga., and were told to leave because investigators had, “an important update,” for the family.
The investigation is ongoing.
