GORDON COUNTY, Ga. — An intruder call led to the arrest of an accused rapist.

On Friday, Gordon County deputies were called to a home on Fox Street regarding an intruder.
The victim told deputies a man was hiding in a child’s bedroom closet. The victim confronted the man about being in the home.
The man, later identified as 19-year-old Sergio Hernandez-Vicente, of Calhoun, ran away before deputies arrived.

Detectives on the scene interviewed witnesses and collected evidence.
Around noon on Saturday, deputies arrested Hernandez-Vicente and charged him with statutory rape and child molestation. He was booked into the Gordon County jail pending a court appearance.
