8-year-old boy in need of kidney transplant surprised with trip to Falcons-49ers game

ATLANTA — An 8-year-old boy says one of his lifelong dreams came true when he flew to Atlanta and watched the San Francisco 49ers and Falcons play.

Another dream request though could save his life.

The Falcons-49ers trip was a present for Jamison Boutwell’s 8th birthday to watch his favorite team. The day was made even better when his hero 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo gave him a game towel.

Now back at home in Maine, Jamison’s family faces a scary reality.

“He was born with something that wasn’t caught, and then it wasn’t caught for years. It damaged his bladder and his kidneys, and now were chronically managing both of those on a daily basis,” his father Matt Boutwell told WABI-TV.

About three years ago, the family learned Jamison would need a kidney transplant. They are still searching for a donor.

“I’d say #shareyourspare. You know, it’s something we would be forever grateful to have someone donate to Jamison,” his mother Bethany Short said.
