ATLANTA — A homicide investigation is underway after an 18-year-old was shot and killed in northwest Atlanta Friday night.
Atlanta Police Department Homicide Commander Andrew Smith said just after 11 p.m., officers responded to 1097 Hollywood Road or Band-E Food Mart to a person shot call.

When they arrived, they found an 18-year-old black man in the parking lot dead after he had been shot.
According to Smith, there was a verbal exchange between the occupants inside of a black sedan and the victim. Shortly after shots rang out and the victim was killed.
Smith said homicide investigators are on scene and pulling video from the location to see if they can identify those responsible for the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
