3 men accused of stealing vehicle, Atlanta Police utility belt arrested

ATLANTA — The Atlanta Police Department say they arrested three men accused of stealing a vehicle last week.

Police say on January 24 at 10:40 p.m., they responded to a stolen vehicle call around Peachtree Street and Pine Street. They located the vehicle as it traveled down Peachtree.

The suspects, identified as Kobe Demarcus Johnson, Alonzo Longmire and Keonte Heard attempted to flee from APD and Georgia State Patrol, who assisted in the pursuit.

GSP officers performed a PIT maneuver, disabling the stolen car, but two of the men got out on foot and ran from police.

One of the men remained in the car and was immediately arrested.

The remaining two suspects attempted to hide in a dumpster, but were spotted by the APD Aviation Unit, who led the officers to the two men’s location. Police arrested the men without incident.

Officials say they recovered the stolen vehicle, two firearms, a duty belt, and other miscellaneous items.

Johnson and Longmire have been charged with entering auto, theft by taking and criminal trespass. Heard was charged with entering auto and criminal trespass.
