ATLANTA — Severe Weather Team 2 continues to track the winter storm that will impact all of North Georgia on Friday.
A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the whole area because regardless of what part of North Georgia you live in, you are going to be impacted by the approaching weather.
When it comes to how much snow we’ll see, Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz says the further north you live, the more snow you will see.
Nitz the mountains will see “accumulations to 2-3, isolated 4-inch totals or higher in the higher peaks of the North Georgia mountains.”

The Atlanta metro will see snow in the morning with it turning to freezing rain.
“From the metro to the area to the north, we’re talking one to two inches,” Nitz said.
As for the south metro, you will likely only see a wintry mix.
“I do expect some snowfalls there in the morning, but then we’ll have more of a wintry mix as we head throughout the day,” Nitz said.
