The first shooting happened at the intersection of Mary Street and Smith Street around 12:15 a.m. Neighbors heard gunshots and called it in.
Officers on the scene found a man who had been shot several times lying in the road. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Investigators say the man is believed to be in his early 20s, but he has not yet been identified.

Minutes later, another deadly shooting was reported less than two miles away. Officers found a man shot and killed at the entrance ramp off Interstate 20 westbound at Pryor Street.
Investigators say the victim is a 31-year-old man. At this time, they don’t know what led up to the shooting. They are working to speak with a witness.
Atlanta Police are hoping that someone may have seen something related to these shootings. The incident on the Pryor Street ramp is not near many homes. Officers are hoping that there might be video from a security camera near the Mary Street shooting that can help lead them to the killer or killers.
Investigators are asking anyone with information on either of these incidents to call them at 404-614-6544 or contact Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
