Man grazed by bullet after fight escalates to shooting at Atlanta Dunkin’

ATLANTA — Atlanta police are investigating after a fight led to a shooting Wednesday morning.

Around 7:30 a.m., Atlanta officers were called to 2444 Piedmont Road NE regarding a shooting.

The address appears to be a Dunkin’ location.

Atlanta investigators say two men got into a fight before one of them pulled out a gun and shot the other.

A bullet grazed 24-year-old Tyree Freeman. He was later charged with battery and will be booked into the Fulton County Jail.

Freeman is expected to be OK. It’s unclear if the shooting happened inside or outside of the business. APD did not say if an employee was involved in the incident.

A Dunkin’ spokesperson shared the following statement with Channel 2 Action News regarding the incident:

We are aware of the incident that occurred at our franchised location in Atlanta, GA. The franchisee is cooperating fully with the police in their investigation. Given that this is an active investigation, we defer any further comment to the local police department.”
