ATLANTA — Channel 2 Action News is on the scene of a massive water main break along Peachtree Road in Buckhead.
The Department of Watershed Management said the break is at 2166 Peachtree Road near the intersection of Peachtree and Colonial Homes Drive, just up the road from Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.
Crews have closed at least 3 valves to stop the water flow so they can begin to repair the main and eventually, the road.
City officials confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that Piedmont Atlanta Hospital and the Shepherd Center have water.
“This is a busy corridor, so this is a situation that started that we want to resolve real soon,” Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens said.
Dickens told Channel 2’s Eryn Rogers that they weren’t able to determine yet if this break was a result of the aging pipe infrastructure in the city.
