Murder suspect caught while trespassing down the street hours after deadly shooting

A woman is facing charges after she stole over $14,000 worth of underwear from two malls in Arizona during multiple occurrences at the end of last year into 2024.

ATLANTA — Atlanta police say they caught a murder suspect just a few hours after the shooting because he was trespassing.

Officers were called to the Helios apartments on Cheshire Bridge Road just before 8 a.m. on Saturday where they found a man who had been shot several times.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.

A few hours later, officers were called to a criminal trespass less than half a mile down Cheshire Bridge Road.

The officer who responded recognized the suspect accused of trespassing as the suspect from the deadly shooting. Police identified him as 29-year-old Malik Jones.

He was immediately placed into custody and the officer secured the possible murder weapon.
