ATLANTA — Channel 2 Action News has obtained new video showing a fire coming out of a Delta plane as it turned back to Atlanta on Wednesday night.
Channel 2 Action News first reported the incident during WSB Tonight at 11 p.m. after a viewer sent us video of the plane she took of it flying overhead from her home off of Camp Creek Parkway.
That video showed an orange ball coming from the engine area. Now, new video from Paulo Cesar Prioli shows flames shooting from the engine that he shot from his seat aboard the flight.
Delta confirmed that there was a problem with the left engine on Flight 105, which was headed to Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The airline said that the plane was met with firetrucks upon landing, and they also sprayed down the plane’s brakes “as a precautionary measure due to the heavier than normal landing weight.”

“We are working to re-accommodate all 257 passengers on a different aircraft this evening. We apologize to our customers for this delay in their travels,” the airline said in a statement.
On Thursday, Delta everyone was put onto another plane and were back in the air by 10:30 p.m.the
