Pollen count has been rising as warmer temps continue across North Georgia

ATLANTA — As we continue to enjoy the warm weather, pollen counts have been on the rise.

For the last two days, the pollen count has been in the moderate range, with Tuesday’s count at 46.

The biggest pollinators right now are birch, juniper, alder and maple trees, according to Atlanta Allergy & Asthma.

“Yesterday we were at 25, so we’re seeing this increase a bit as we continue with warm afternoons with temperatures in the 70s,” Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

Nitz said colder air will return next week and is reminding people that we are still 44 days away from the first day of Spring.
