“I’ve learned a lot during my time away,” YFN Lucci said in his statement. “I’m incredibly grateful for my family and friends who have stood by me the whole time. Now, it’s my turn to give back. I want to use my voice, my platform and my music to inspire those who look up to me. I want to show people it’s never too late to make a change.

“For me, this time is about growth, redemption and purpose. I’m excited - there’s so much more to come.”

The images and a statement were released for YFN Lucci, real name Rayshawn Bennett, by his label, Think It’s a Game Records. To celebrate his release, 20 of his closest friends and family gathered at The Vault inside The Bank Event Center.

His attorneys, Drew Findling, Marissa Goldberg, Gabe Banks and Pat Dixon, issued a joint statement that he was granted early release on parole.

“He is overjoyed to reunite with his children, his family and his music,” they said. “He will waste no time releasing new music and getting back on stage to perform for his fans.”

Bennett served a year in prison after pleading guilty to one count of violating the Street Gang and Terrorism Prevention Act in January 2024. He was sentenced to 20 years with 10 to serve, but he was eligible for parole after four months, with credit for time served.

He was initially charged with murder in January 2021 after police said he was the driver in a gang-related drive-by shooting that killed a man.

Channel 2′s Michael Seiden learned that Bennett will be on parole through Jan. 2031. During that time, he will be required to live with his mom, submit to drug tests, stay away from gang members and refrain from any gang activities.

He also can’t have any firearms and can’t leave the state without permission from his parole officer.

Seiden first told you last summer about a letter Fulton District Attorney Fani Willis sent to State Board of Pardons and Paroles that supported his early release.

“The District Attorney of Fulton County did the unorthodox,” attorney Drew Findling told Seiden in July. “That letter from the district attorney is a powerful punch and is really at the heart of the letter and supporting documents and the memorandum that we have shared with the parole board.”

YFN Lucci has been signed with TIG Records since 2014. “Key to the Streets” featuring Migos and “Everyday We Lit” are some of his biggest hits.
