Today’s pollen count was in the high range for the first time since September

ATLANTA — Feeling a little sneezy? Eyes a little itchy? That’s because the pollen count is now in the high range.

The warm weather we’ve had since last week is causing the tree pollen to come out.

Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz said this is the first time the pollen count has been high since Sept. 18.

“We’re still far from the start of spring, officially,” Nitz said. “Winter will return later this month with some colder temperatures.

Friday’s pollen county was 137, according to Atlanta Allergy & Asthma. The agency said the biggest contributors right now are Elm, Juniper, Alder, Maple and Birch trees.
