ATLANTA — Neighbors inside of a southwest Atlanta home were rescued early Friday morning after their home was on fire without them knowing.
Friday morning around 2 a.m., an Atlanta Police officer was driving by 768 Central Avenue when he saw a house burning.
The body camera footage shows the officer immediately jumping out of his cruiser and running up to the door of the home and began to shout and bang on the door to alert those inside.

When the neighbor opened the door, she was shocked to learn the house was on fire. Officer Ash with the APD was able to get the neighbors out of the home, along with their cat as the fire began to take over the front porch.
There was an additional cat believed to have been inside of the home. Officer Ash reentered the home to see if the cat remained, but as he did, he noticed the other cat run out of the house to safety.
No one was injured due to the fire, including the pets.
