A spokesperson for Kemp highlighted some of the legislation, including the budget. It included $290 million for statewide transportation projects and $200 million for the Department of Corrections to raise salaries, operational needs and to support private prisons.

“From cutting taxes and improving our workforce pipeline to a state budget that prioritizes public safety and strengthens our critical infrastructure, measures we championed during this year’s legislative session go into effect today – measures that will help us keep Georgia the best place to live, work, and raise a family," the spokesperson said.

Here’s a list of some of the bills that will take effect, starting Tuesday.
