LIST: North Georgia school districts closings, delays and moves to virtual learning for Monday

ATLANTA — After a snowy and icy weekend, most north Georgia school districts are back-to-business as usual on Monday

However, road conditions aren’t the same everywhere, so a few school districts adjusted their plans for Monday due to the weather conditions.

Here’s the list of school closures, delays and moves to virtual learning.

CLOSED

  • Banks County Schools will be closed due to unsafe road conditions.
  • Catoosa County Schools will be closed due to remaining icy conditions on secondary roadways.
  • Dade County Schools will be closed.
  • Gilmer County Schools will remain closed due to icy road conditions.
  • Habersham County Schools will be closed due to icy roads.
  • Hart County Schools will be closed.
  • Stephens County Schools will be closed.
  • Walker County Schools will be closed.
  • White County Schools are closed out of an abundance of caution.
  • Whitfield County Schools are closed due to some remaining ice and snow.

DELAYED

  • Dalton Public Schools will have a two-hour delay, but will end at the usual times.
  • Gainesville City Schools will open with a two-hour delay due to ice.
  • Gordon County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay, with elementary schools starting at 9:30 a.m. and middle and high schools at 10:30 a.m.
  • Hall County Schools will open two hours later than normal.

DIGITAL/VIRTUAL LEARNING

  • Dawson County Schools will have a digital learning day instead of in-person lessons.
  • Fannin County Schools will operate virtually with a digital learning day due to road conditions.
  • Lumpkin County Schools will have a virtual learning day due to road conditions.
  • Pickens County will be operating virtually for a digital learning day on Monday due to icy roadways.
  • Rabun County Schools will have a virtual learning day to prioritize student and staff safety.
  • Towns County Schools will have an online learning day due to unsafe conditions on main bus routes.
  • Union County Schools will have an at-home learning day due to road conditions.
