BARROW COUNTY, Ga. — A former Georgia state representative is recovering after an accident occurred on his farm.

Georgia House Speaker Jon Burns shared the news about Terry England on social media Saturday night.
Burns said England was injured Saturday morning in a heavy machinery accident on his farm in Barrow County. According to Burns, England was rushed to the hospital and underwent a successful surgery to repair a serious injury he sustained to his spinal cord.

The House speaker is asking for continued prayers as England continues his road to recovery.
“We know that the power of prayer is real, and we’re incredibly grateful for everyone who sent their prayers and support for Terry and Cindy. Please continue to lift him and his family up as he begins the long road to recovery,” Burns said.
England previously served in the Georgia House of Representatives from January 2005 until January 2023. He represented Georgia’s 108th District and later the 116th District until he chose not to seek reelection in 2022.
He currently is the Chief of Staff at Georgia House of Representatives.
