NEW ORLEANS, La. — Investigators say they no longer believe there are other suspects involved in the New Year’s Day attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, La.
Sources told ABC News that the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New Orleans Police Department say suspect Shamsud-Din Jabbar placed the incendiary explosive devices himself, rather than other individuals doing so.
On Wednesday, sources told ABC News that members of law enforcement said they had reviewed surveillance footage and at the time believed three men and a woman had planted the IEDs. Now, investigators say closer review of the video available showed Jabbar doing so, then changing clothes.
Law enforcement officials told ABC News that they found the other clothes inside of the truck Jabbar used to drive down Bourbon Street into the crowd, killing 15 and injuring dozens of others.
The FBI is still investigating whether or not Jabbar spoke to or messaged other individuals before the attack, but sources told ABC News that no one else was in the vicinity to help him during the attack.
The coroner’s office has positively identified all of the deceased victims.
