Cherokee County electronics recycling event to be held Dec. 3

CANTON, Ga. — The Cherokee County Recycling Center will host an electronics recycling event on Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the County Administration Building located at 1130 Bluffs Parkway in Canton.

The event is limited to Cherokee County residents only.

Items that will be accepted at no charge include personal computers, laptops, modems, floppy/disk drives, printers, batteries, CD-ROMs, fax machines, cell phones, circuit boards, copiers, phones, PC power supplies, stereos/VCR/CD players, scanners, keyboards, typewriters, toner cartridges, mouse/mice, text equipment, wire/cabling, PC monitors and networking equipment.

There will be a $25 fee to recycle televisions, a $10 fee for CRT monitors, a $40 fee for large projection TVs, and a $5 fee for all LCD monitors.

The event will only accept cash. Debit and credit cards will not be accepted.

Items not accepted are wooden cabinet TV sets, gas-powered equipment, tires, household trash and appliances.

The event is a drive-through one. People should remain in their cars, and volunteers will remove all equipment from the vehicles.

It is requested that you remove all equipment from boxes and cables from each device.

All cables may be placed in a bag for drop-off that day.
