On Thursday afternoon, Riverdale police shared a photo of the suspect who they hope someone will be able to recognize him.

Fernandes was able to speak with Sinyard’s father, who says he is devastated at the loss of his son.

“I can’t even go there, I can’t do it,” Patrick Redeye said. “It’s something I don’t want nobody to ever feel.”

Redeye said that his son was acting out in the weeks leading up to his murder, which led to him filing a missing persons report on the teenager.

When Riverdale police knocked on his door and said someone killed his son, he was shocked.

He still hasn’t really processed that his son is gone.

“I got up the other morning to get him ready for school and hit the floor and realized he was gone. He hasn’t even driven a car yet, you know, it’s stuff like that,” Redeye said. “When I think about it, it irks me. There’s too many guns out here, kids getting guns...We’ve got to do something! We gotta do better as a community, as a whole.”

The family set up a GoFundMe campaign to help offset funeral costs.
