Clayton Co. man found guilty of hitting nephew in the head with machete after argument over clothes

A man is facing nearly three decades in federal prison after he pleaded guilty to attacking multiple officers in New York City on New Year’s Eve with a machete.

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — A man was sentenced to years in prison after a Clayton County jury found him guilty of aggravated assault.

A Clayton County judge sentenced Clifford Alexander Pink to 10 years with seven years to serve in prison on an aggravated assault charge stemming from an incident that occurred on October 28, 2023.

The Clayton County District Attorney’s Office said Pink and his nephew were arguing over clothes.

After yelling reported derogatory insults towards his nephew, Pink got a machete.

The DA said Pink then hit his nephew in the head with the machete, causing a large, deep wound. His nephew was able to escape and locked himself in his room.

“This outcome reflects our unwavering dedication to justice and holding offenders accountable,” District Attorney Tasha Mosley said.
