CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — As winter weather bore down on the metro Atlanta area and dangerously cold temperatures remained through the night, there have been a number of cancellations and delays for flights into and out of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
So far 291 flights have been canceled and 749 have seen delays, according to tracking site FlightAware.
The Atlanta security wait times were about 75 minutes at one point for domestic flights, according to the Transportation Security Administration.

“We’re seeing exceptional volume with the National Championship. We recommend showing up 2 ½ to 3 hours before your flight,” Mark Howell with the TSA told Channel 2’s Linda Stouffer.
Howell said the best advice is to show up early, but not too early. People showing up more than three hours early should wait before going through security.
Overall, TSA said they expect 93,000 people to go through security at Hartsfield-Jackson today.
Howell said “lines are long, but moving.”
