2 Smyrna officers sent to the hospital after touching paperwork with mysterious substance on it

SMYRNA, Ga. — Two Smyrna Police Department officers were sent to the hospital after they touched some paperwork with a mysterious substance on it.

Little Stone is in jail charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault against an officer.

According to court documents obtained by Channel 2 Cobb County Bureau Chief Michele Newell, Stone walked into the Smyrna Police Department with documents intended for the police chief.

Investigators say Stone was talking to the desk clerk when he handed paperwork to the officers. Minutes later, the officers started feeling extremely fatigued, chest pain, chest tightness, dizziness and difficult breathing.

Both officers were taken to the hospital and are currently recovering.

The FBI is assisting the Smyrna Police Department with the case, testing the paperwork to determine what kind of substance was on it.

Stone is facing two felony counts of aggravated assault against an officer.

In 2021, he was charged with making terroristic threats after he showed up to Puckett EMS and threatened to blow up employees. He was sentenced to 12 months of probation.

Police say Stone was also on probation at the time of this incident.
