This Cobb County city is the most generous in the U.S., according to new study

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Three metro Atlanta cities are among the 10 most generous cities in the United States, according to a new study.

For the 2024 Year in Help report, GoFundMe said a city in the metro Atlanta area was the most generous in the country.

Heading over to Cobb County, Marietta was named the most generous city when it comes to donors per capita.

That means more people in Marietta donated per 50,000 people than any other city in the United States, as far as GoFundMe campaigns are concerned.

More broadly, GoFundMe said Marietta residents donated to three main types of fundraisers: animals, sports and education.

“Marietta residents donated nearly $70,000 to support animals, contributed an average donation of $88 to sports fundraisers, and an average donation of $100 for education initiatives,” GoFundMe said.

In addition to Marietta, Sandy Springs and Alpharetta were among the top 10 most generous cities in America. It’s also the third time Marietta was named the most generous city since 2019.
