KENNESAW, Ga. — A Kennesaw man is charged with the sexual exploitation of a child after police say he uploaded four naked images of an underage girl online.
According to a criminal warrant, Discord, an online communication platform, notified the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about a user uploading the images to their servers.
Agents with the FBI were notified, due to an investigation they were already conducting into that Discord account.

According to the warrant, the images showed a girl between the ages of 12 and 14.
The FBI obtained a subpoena for that account, which identified Paul Lee Smith as the user.
They traced his IP address to Smith’s room at the Superior Creek Lodge in Kennesaw.
Agents found Smith in his room at the motel and he agreed to an interview.
During the interview, Smith admitted to owning the account that uploaded the images and having the images on his cell phone.
Smith is being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
